Jaecoo J5 price to be finalized soon.
Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam announced that they will unveil the official price of the Jaecoo J5 SUV at the New Energy Night event on August 14th.
Earlier in July, the model was showcased at an event with three powertrain options: a gasoline engine, a Super Hybrid System (SHS-H) plug-in hybrid system, and a pure electric vehicle (BEV).
At that time, the company had not yet announced the official price but opened a pre-order program until August 31st. However, the company also revealed that the official price of the Jaecoo J5 Premium would not exceed the projected price of 559 million VND.
Similarly, the J5 SHS-H Premium version will not exceed 629 million VND, while the two versions, J5 SHS-H Flagship and J5 BEV Flagship, are both expected to be priced at 699 million VND.
Furthermore, the company even announced that if the officially announced selling price later exceeds the expected price, customers who participated in the pre-order program will be reimbursed five times the value of their deposit.
What does the Jaecoo J5 offer?

The Jaecoo J5 belongs to the B-segment SUV category with dimensions of 4,380 x 1,860 x 1,650 (mm) (length x width x height), and a wheelbase of 2,620mm. Ground clearance is 176mm on the gasoline and hybrid versions, while the all-electric version reaches 184mm.
According to the distributor, even the standard version of the Jaecoo J5 is equipped with a multi-link independent rear suspension system, LED lights, double-glazed soundproof windows, power-folding and heated rearview mirrors, cruise control, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
In higher trim levels, the car is equipped with a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) package, 540 HD surround-view camera, and 6 airbags.
Another highlight is the interior, which is presented with a pet-friendly approach, using materials that are scratch-resistant, antibacterial, stain-resistant, and odor-resistant.

In terms of performance, the Jaecoo J5 offers three powertrain options to meet different needs.
Powering the standard Jaecoo J5 is a 1.5TCI turbocharged gasoline engine with a displacement of 1,498cc, producing a maximum power of 145 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 210Nm. The engine is paired with a CVT continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.
The hybrid powertrain on the SHS-H version combines a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor, with the gasoline engine producing 141 horsepower and 215 Nm of torque.
At the exhibition, the company did not disclose the specific total power output of this system, but mentioned "over 200 horsepower" and that this version can travel more than 1,000km on a single tank of fuel and battery charge.
The Jaecoo J5 BEV version is equipped with an electric motor, producing a maximum power of 155kW (208 hp) and a maximum torque of 288Nm. The vehicle uses a 58.9kWh CATL battery pack, providing a maximum range of 461km per charge according to NEDC standards.

In terms of safety, the vehicle features an ADAS driver assistance package with a 540 HD camera, adaptive cruise control, automatic headlights, blind spot warning, lane change assist, door open warning, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, intelligent collision avoidance system (IES), and speed limit warning… depending on the version.
The Jaecoo J5 Premium and Jaecoo J5 SHS-H versions come with a 10-year or 1 million km engine warranty, whichever comes first. The all-electric version has an 8-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty.
